John
R. Womack is President of Shona Energy Company, Inc. Prior to the
formation of Shona Energy, Mr. Womack had over forty (40) years
experience in the oil and gas industry. Mr. Womack and Mr. Payne
have worked together since 1982 when Mr. Womack joined Santa Fe
Energy Resources as its Vice President of Land. Mr. Womack held
positions of increased responsibility while at Santa Fe including
the position of Vice President of Business Development where he
was responsible for the management of the company acquisition and
merger activities. Following the acquisition of Adobe Oil and Gas
by Santa Fe , Mr. Womack served as President of Cherokee
Resources, a private equity oil and gas company in which Santa Fe
held an interest along with major institutional investors in the
U.S. In 1996 Mr. Womack was named President of Petrolera Santa Fe,
Santa Fes wholly-owned subsidiary operating in Argentina . Upon
his retirement in 2001, Mr. Womack returned to the U.S. from
Buenos Aires . In 2003 Mr. Womack joined Nuevo Energy Company as
its Director of Land and Worldwide Negotiations.
Prior to joining Santa Fe in 1982, Mr. Womack spent eighteen (18)
years with Union Texas Petroleum in various management positions,
including Manager Land Administration, District Manager, and
Director of Land.
Mr. Womack completed courses at the South Texas Law School, the
University of Houston, and the Stanford Executive Programs. |
